Your Message Matters!
I remember visiting with my mentor after receiving my 19th rejection from a book publisher. I felt completely defeated. So much so, I decided to inform my friend and mentor that I decided to quit my seven year book writing journey out of complete frustration and futility. After sharing the news, I was taken aback by his response! He said, “You’re not writing this book to be a bestseller. You’re writing to the one person who needs to hear your message. After a long pause, I thought to myself; Are you kidding me?! “That’s the dumbest thing I ever heard!”
As I sit here today twenty five years later, I realized my friend was right. I learned two powerful lessons.
In the coming weeks, you’ll be receiving excerpts and stories from God Is My CEO of leaders who sincerely desire to pass on their wisdom and lessons learned. It is my hope that within these stories there’s a message that will inspire you to some action whether it be a sharing your story or simply offering a kind word of encouragement to another. As my mentor passed on to me, you don’t need to write a book to make a difference, you just need to connect with one person who needs to hear your message.
Your story matters. Your message matters. If it’s shared in a humble and loving way, it can make a huge difference in someone’s life.
